Nine universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina teach degree programmes in English: three private universities in Sarajevo across almost every field, and public universities with English-taught medicine, dentistry, nursing, data science and more. Many further programmes are taught in Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian. All of them are listed under English-taught programmes in Bosnia.

English-taught tuition starts at about €1,534 a year, most English bachelor programmes at private universities cost €5,100 to 8,000, and medicine in English costs €3,500 to 13,750 a year. For English-taught degrees, the University of Sarajevo is the cheapest, with Data Science and AI at about €1,534 a year. For medicine in English, the University of East Sarajevo in Foča is the cheapest at €3,500 a year, and Foča is also one of the cheapest towns to live in, at about €400 to 550 a month.

Sarajevo has the most English-taught programmes and the largest international student community. A degree from a state-accredited university in Bosnia and Herzegovina follows the Bologna system with ECTS credits and is recognised through the normal recognition procedure of your target country. For regulated professions such as medicine, the destination country adds its own licensing step.
